What our crews can take on

  • Multi-camera switching

    Multi-camera switching

Our vision mixers cut concerts, studio panels and other multi-camera shows. They follow the director's script and cues closely, and they stay steady when a running order changes minutes before transmission.

  • Live broadcast direction

    Live broadcast direction

A technical director leads the gallery and keeps cameras, graphics and audio cues in step. That starts in rehearsal and carries through to the final minute of transmission.

  • Streaming production operations

    Streaming production operations

We run live streams for events and festivals, handling encoding, platform feeds and backup paths. If one route fails, a second is already prepared so the audience stays connected.

  • Replay and graphics operation

    Replay and graphics operation

Operators run instant replays, lower thirds and on-screen graphics. Each element is timed to the programme and checked against a cue sheet the whole gallery can read.

  • Control room design and fit-out advice

Control room design and fit-out advice

We review your control room layout, signal flow and monitoring, then give you a written plan. It sets out how to make the working space more efficient for the people in it.

  • Crew training and workshops

    Crew training and workshops

Hands-on sessions teach operators live switching, comms discipline and fault handling. Training takes place on real production equipment, so what people practise is what they will use.

How we work

What you can expect in the gallery

Live television leaves little room for second takes. Our crews arrive prepared, speak plainly on comms and keep the gallery calm, so producers can concentrate on the show rather than on the technology.

  • Operators briefed on the script before rehearsal
  • Plain, disciplined talkback throughout the show
  • Cue sheets kept tidy for the whole gallery
  • Backup paths prepared for every stream
  • Faults handled quietly, without stopping the show
  • Layout and signal flow reviewed on request
  • One lead contact from first call to wrap

Process

How a booking moves from first call to wrap

Every production is different, but the steps are the same. We learn what the show needs, match the crew to it and agree the details in writing. Then we rehearse together and stay with the production until the last frame goes out.

  1. Talk through the production

You tell us about the show, the venue or studio, the number of cameras and the transmission plan. We ask about the running order, the equipment on site and where the pressure points are likely to be.

    What you leave with

A shared understanding of the show and its technical needs

  2. Match the crew

Helen Marsden selects the operators whose experience fits the format, whether a concert, a studio panel or a festival stream. Roles are agreed so everyone knows who covers switching, direction, replay and graphics.

    What you leave with

A named crew list with a role for each operator

  3. Confirm in writing

We send a written quotation covering the crew, the days and what is included. Once you confirm it, we issue an invoice, which is paid by bank transfer according to our payment and refund policy.

    What you leave with

A written quotation and, on confirmation, an invoice

  4. Rehearse and check

The crew joins rehearsal to test cameras, graphics, audio cues and any backup feeds. Problems are found while there is still time to fix them, and the cue sheet is settled with the director.

    What you leave with

A rehearsed gallery and a finalised cue sheet

  5. Run the transmission

On the day, the gallery runs to the script and cues. Comms stay clear, faults are dealt with quietly and the lead operator keeps you informed until the show has finished and the feeds are closed.

    What you leave with

A completed transmission and a short handover note

FAQ

Questions we hear often

Producers and event teams ask us much the same things before a first booking. These answers cover the most common ones, and the contact page is there for anything else.

What kinds of productions do you work on?
We work on multi-camera television shows, concerts, studio panels and live streams for events and festivals. Our operators cover switching, direction, replay and graphics. If your format is not listed, describe it to us and we will say plainly whether it suits our crews.
Can you supply a single operator rather than a full crew?
Yes. Some clients need only a vision mixer or a replay operator to join their own gallery. We discuss which role you need, who will be on comms and how the person fits into your existing team before anything is confirmed.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Our core offer is people: operators and technical directors who work on your equipment or the facility's. Where streaming is involved, we plan the encoding and delivery paths with you. We agree in advance what is supplied and by whom.
How do you handle a stream that drops during a live event?
We prepare backup paths for every stream before it goes live, and the streaming lead monitors them throughout. If the main route fails, the backup is already ready to take over, and the production team is told what happened.
How does ordering and payment work?
You send an enquiry through the contact page and we reply with a written quotation. When you confirm, we issue an invoice, paid by bank transfer. Cancellations and refunds follow the payment and refund policy.
Do you advise on control room layout?
We review your layout, signal flow and monitoring, then give you a written plan for a more efficient space. It describes what we found and what we would change, so your team can act on it in its own time.
Do you offer training for our own operators?
We run hands-on workshops covering live switching, comms discipline and fault handling. Sessions use real production equipment, and Callum Reid, our Senior Vision Mixer, helps lead the switcher workflow training.
Where are you based?
Our office is at 14 Fisherton Mill Lane in Salisbury, and our crews travel to studios, venues and festival sites. Tell us where your production is taking place and we will plan the logistics with you.
